The landscape of American restaurants is rich with history, tradition and innovation. On Collins Avenue in South Beach, the balance of trendsetting diners and old Hollywood hotspots is one unlike any other. If it is your first time visiting Miami, Collins Avenue has some of the most unforgettable edibles in all of South Florida. Let’s take a look at some of the more “famous” restaurants.
Jerry’s Famous Deli
With over 30 years of industry experience and 10 restaurants scattered through our Southern California and Florida, this 24 hour “New York” style deli is a must for budget conscious beach bums. Located at 1450 Collins Avenue, Jerry’s Famous Deli is quaintly nestled within the walls of the Henry Hohauser designed “Warsaw Ballroom” which was built in 1939. Jerry’s packs a menu with over 700 items, with such favorites as their Triple Deckers or NY Style White Pizza.
STK Miami
Being one of New York’s most sensual steakhouses, STK Miami is bound to be a unique experience in itself. Located within the Gansevoort South premises (just off the main lobby), STK Miami will offer its well known brand of steakhouse-ritz to the Collins Avenue restaurant scene. Within this two level property you can expect to find a versatile menu, creatively arranged by Executive Chef Todd Mark Miller (of STK New York fame). Traditional steakhouse fare, lamb, seafood and salads are just the beginning. With a launch date in the near future, we hope Collins Avenue is ready for STK Miami.
Philippe Miami
Miami has been attracting the best of the best when it comes to New York chefs for decades. Philippe Chow of Mr. Chows in New York is no exception to this occurrence. With over 25 years under his belt, Philippe Miami is Asian delicacy at the highest level of class – and price. Also located in the Gansevoort Hotel, this sexy restaurant fuels it’s customers with gourmet duck spring rolls and hand pulled noodles, a technique which Philippe Chow has become quite famous for.
Stop by any of the above restaurants when strolling along Collins Avenue and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how tangible true luxury dining really is.
